Newsea's Summer Flavour edited and retextured

I love this hair. I think it may be my favorite Newsea mesh ever. I edited the mesh to make it a little smaller and reduced the polycount for the lower LODs, but most of the work I did was with the bone assignments. It doesn't look like your sim glued her bangs to her shoulders anymore! The texture is almost entirely Newsea’s, with the dark roots removed and some parts from Pooklet’s texture blended in where I wanted a bit more detail.

My version won't overwrite anything, so you can have mine and Newsea’s version in your game at the same time. Anonymous commenting is enabled; if you have any problems, please let me know and I’ll fix them as soon as possible.

Available for teen, young adult, adult, and elder females.

Mesh by Newsea
Textures by Newsea, Pooklet, and me

Poly count:
LOD0 - 8604
LOD1 - 5132
LOD2 - 2171
LOD3 - 434

  2. Beautiful work, Reis!

I didn't care for this hair until I saw your fix, so would you mind if I retexture your version?

I know you said you don't mind if people edit your work, but I would feel so much more comfortable if I had your permission.

  5. Thanks guys!

Metalmoose, of course you can retexture my version. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it! Plus, I think I'm the only person left who doesn't offer an adjust shine version of their hairs, and if you do one then I won't have to feel as bad for being lazy and skipping it. :D

  6. What are the codes for the hair colors you use?

  7. Hey Reis, on a completely different note, would you mind telling how you made it so that your version doesn't overwrite Newsea's?

I've run into a sort of wall with one of my retextures, and the hair won't open with TSR workshop, so I can't really make a non-default version.

  8. I use Anubis' color palettes for my hair. You can download them here - http://anubis360.blogspot.com/2010/09/le-pallette-hair-colors.html.

The light blonde is his platinum color, the dark blonde is either rosy or cream, the dark brown I used for this hair is coffee (I think I made the highlights for this one a little brighter), and the lighter brown I used for previous posts is cocoa.

The only color not by Anubis is the red, and for that one I just took EA’s default red color and made it slightly brighter.

  9. I had to use TSR Workshop to make a non-default version that still had morph states. I took Newsea's sims3pack, opened and renamed it in Workshop, didn't make any changes except for unticking the random button, and then exported it. Then I converted my new sims3pack to a package, and swapped in my textures and geoms with Postal.

Workshop mangles 90% of the textures and meshes I try to import into it, and once I've edited a package with any other program it won't open it at all, but it seems to work okay for this. Try downloading the sims3pack version of the hair, and making a copy of it with workshop before making any other changes to it.

  10. Hi, Reis! I'm very sorry to bug you, but do you take hair conversion requests? I love your work, and I just want more by you! I just can't get enough, lol. Thanks!

  11. You're not bugging me, go ahead and post your requests. There are a lot of meshes out there that just don't look good converted to Sims 3, no matter what anybody does to them, so I can't really promise anything. But I'll definitely look at any requests that people have and see what I can do with them.

I'm in the process of learning how to add morph states to hair meshes right now, that's why I haven't posted any conversions in awhile. I think I've almost got it figured out, so hopefully I'll be able to finish a few conversions I've been working on and upload them sometime in the near future.

  12. Awwwwwh! You're so nice! I'd LOVE to have Rosesims hair 71b, the female one, converted for TS3. I love hairs, that go on one side, and the NewSea's recent 'WakeUp' is just crappy, I mean there's something very weird about it, and I can't get what. :D You can get that Rose's hair, here (image of the hair is inside the file) : http://www.mediafire.com/?56kwlivnsf1geii

  13. I can't download the file, it says that the file system has been disabled and can only upload and retrieve files. Unless its just me :\ Beautiful retexture work you've done btw :)

  14. No, it's not just you. Looks like they've disabled all the files on their site. They must be afraid of the FBI going after them like they did megaupload...

I updated the download link, it should work now. Let me know if you have any more trouble.

  15. Hi Reis ^^
if you could, please fix bone assignment for newsea equinoxe and newsea color of wind :D
btw Love your beautiful work :)

  16. I downloaded equinoxe when it was first released, and I hated it. I think it looks terrible from every angle except the front, so I'm probably never going to bother with it again. Sorry.

I haven't tried color of wind out yet, but that one looks pretty nice in the preview pics. I'll check it out in game sometime this week, and I might do an edit eventually if I like it.

  17. Is there any way you could make a .sims3pack download? :) I LOVE this!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sorry, but due to the tools I use to edit the meshes, I can't make sims3packs.
