Newsea's Miles Away Edited and Retextured

Back at the beginning of the year, I was planning on updating this blog at least once a month. And then the past few months of school just killed me. Hydrogeology ruins everything. Anyway, I didn't do a whole lot with this mesh. I retextured it with an edited version of newsea's textures (I'm really happy with the way these ones turned out!). I resized the mesh so that it's not as wide, sits a little lower on the head, and has some more volume on top. And I moved or deleted a couple strands of hair that looked out of place and were annoying me. Poly count for the lower lods has been reduced, but I couldn't really edit the higher ones without making the curls look blocky and horrible, so this hair probably won't play well with slower computers.

Available for teen, young adult, adult, and elder females.

Poly count:
LOD0 - 14709
LOD1 - 7931
LOD2 - 2738
LOD3 - 308

  1. Stunning work as always, Reis. You never cease to amaze me with your mesh editing skill, I'll definitely be using this version rather than my own, its beautiful.

By the way, do you use milkshape or another meshing program?

    1. Aw, thanks! I can never pick and choose like that. Whenever someone releases a mesh I like, I end up with like five different retextures of it in my game.

For sims stuff I mostly use milkshape. My favorite program is 3ds Max, but it doesn't import sims files, so I can't really use it unless I want to turn a mesh into an .obj file and redo the bone assignments and everything from scratch.

  8. I really like this hair but when I have darker colors it looks very plastic in the back. :o

    1. That can happen on the create-a-sim screen sometimes, depending on what your graphics settings are. I haven't found a way to fix it yet without making the hair look worse in game.

If the hair looks plasticy in game, then I definitely messed something up, and if someone sends me a screenshot I'll do my best to fix it.

  9. This version looks so much better. I have the original but I didn't really like the way it looked on the sim. Thank you for sharing all of your edits with us.
